If you are currently exploring or would like to explore spinout, startup, or other commercial opportunities for your research projects, join us on Monday, January 29, from noon-1 p.m., for a free lunch & learn about broader impact and innovation grants for your research. University of Maryland Aerospace Engineering Professor and Chair Alison Flatau will share how resources like NSF’s I-Corps program help researchers transform innovations into successful products and services.
Learn about workshops and funding opportunities, including:
-
I-Corps Prep: a short, two-part course that teaches proven, evidence-based methods for success as an entrepreneur
-
I-Corps Teams: a $50,000 NSF grant to explore commercialization
-
TEDCO MII: a $115,000 TEDCO Maryland Innovation Initiative grant awarded through the UMD startup support team
-
America's Seed Fund: up to $2 million available through NSF's SBIR grant program
This will be an informal opportunity to meet and hear from the UMD I-Corps team and colleagues who have participated in the programs listed above. I-Corps leaders will also be on hand to answer questions about the program and its concepts, including Business Model Generation and Customer Discovery. In addition, they will discuss opportunities with both regional and NSF National I-Corps programs.
