Professor David Akin, Director of the Clark School Space Systems Laboratory has recently been approved to receive funding for a proposal entitled' "Design, Development, and Testing of a Transportable Habitat Demonstrator Unit (HUD-Lite')" as part of the eXploration Habitat (X-Hab) Academic Innovation Challenge Program. Funding for this award is contingent upon the successful execution of a contract between the National Space Grant Foundation and the University of Maryland Department of Aerospace Engineering.
