Three Clark School aerospace engineering undergraduate students have received NASA Aeronautics Scholarships -- the most granted to any school in the nation.

The three rising juniors, Cory Frontin (DeMatha Catholic High School, Md.), Cody Karcher (Grove City Area High School, Penn.) and Nelson Yanes (Northwestern High School, Md.), each received a two-year, $15,000-per-year scholarship and a $10,000 stipend for a summer internship with NASA. Scholarship recipients intern with NASA researchers and work on developing technologies for managing air traffic more efficiently; reducing aircraft noise, fuel consumption and emissions; and improving safety.

The Clark School led the nation in the number of awards granted. The University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute each had two scholarships awarded. Only 20 awards were granted. The program attracts hundreds of applicants each year.
