University of Maryland graduate students Allison Porter and David Squiller took second and third place in the 2015 Thermal and Fluids Analysis Workshop (TFAWS) poster competition. TFAW is sponsored by the NASA Engineering and Safety Center (NESC) and hosted by the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC).

Porter is an Aerospace Engineering Ph.D. candidate working under the advisement of Professor Raymond Sedwick. The title of her poster was, "Thermal Management and Deployment of a Thin-walled Enclosure for a High-temperature Superconducting Coil."

Squiller is a Mechanical Engineering Ph.D. candidate, and worked under the advisement of Professor F. Patrick McCluskey and Distinguished University Professor Avram Bar-Cohen on his poster, "Thermal Isolation and Differential Cooling of Heterogeneously Integrated Devices."

TFAW is an annual training and professional development workshop currently celebrating its 25th year. Designed to encourage knowledge sharing, professional development and networking throughout the thermal and fluids engineering community within NASA and the aerospace community at large, TFAW's vision is to maintain continuity over time and between disciplines throughout the thermal and fluids engineering community.
